Something not working? Here's how to fix it.
Getting reminders to work
Anchor's daily reminders are push notifications — they work like app notifications, not texts or emails. There's a one-time setup step depending on your phone.
Android
Option A — Install as standalone app (recommended)
- Open endthedrift.com in Chrome → three-dot menu → "Add to Home Screen" → choose "Install app"
- Go to phone Settings → Apps → Anchor → Notifications → turn ON
- Open the Anchor app → My Anchor → turn reminders OFF, then back ON
- Set your reminder time and you're set
Option B — Add to Home Screen as a Chrome shortcut (not recommended)
This method does not support push notifications.
- Open endthedrift.com in Chrome on your Android phone
- Tap the three-dot menu (top right) → "Add to Home Screen"
- When prompted, choose the Chrome shortcut option (not "Install app")
- Enable reminders inside Anchor — Android will ask "Allow notifications?" — tap Allow
- Your reminders are set
Why the extra step? When Anchor is installed as a standalone app, Android treats it separately from Chrome with its own notification permissions. This is standard Android behavior, not a bug.
Reinstalled the app?
Android: If you uninstall and reinstall Anchor, Android will block notifications by default and won't prompt you again. To fix it, go to Settings → Apps → Anchor → Notifications and turn them back ON. Then open the app and toggle your reminders off, then back on.
iPhone/iPad: After reinstalling Anchor, open the app and go to My Anchor → Daily Reminder. Turn the reminder off, then back on. When prompted, tap "Allow" to re-enable notifications. You only need to do this once — both the Commitment Reminder and Anchor Nudge will be covered.
iPhone
Requires iOS 16.4 or later. Must use Safari — Chrome on iPhone does not support push notifications.
- Open endthedrift.com in Safari
- Tap the Share button → "Add to Home Screen"
- Open Anchor from your home screen icon
- Enable reminders — tap Allow when prompted
- Set your reminder time and you're set
Note: If you enabled reminders in the browser before adding to your home screen, turn reminders off and back on after installing.
iPad
Same steps as iPhone. Requires iPadOS 16.4 or later.
Desktop
Reminders are delivered to your phone only. Desktop browsers do not support Anchor's push notifications. Add Anchor to your home screen on your phone to receive daily reminders.
Don't have a smartphone?
No problem — Anchor will send your daily reminder by email instead. Make sure your account has a confirmed email address.
Building a new Anchor
Want to start fresh? Your current Anchor will be replaced when you build a new one. To keep a copy, print your Anchor or save it as a PDF before you begin. You can do this from your My Anchor page.
Deep Dive
Once you've completed a deep dive, you can edit any of your answers at any time. Go to your My Anchor page, tap View My Responses, then tap Edit on any question you'd like to change. When you're done, hit Regenerate Anchor and your Anchor will be rebuilt from your updated answers.
If you choose Start Fresh on the deep dive page, your existing deep dive and its generated Anchor will be replaced with a completely new one. Your previous responses will not be recoverable.
Troubleshooting: I enabled reminders but nothing is firing
Check that notifications are allowed
- Android: Settings → Apps → Anchor (or Chrome) → Notifications → must be ON
- iPhone/iPad: Settings → Notifications → Anchor → Allow Notifications must be ON
Re-register your subscription
My Anchor → tap "Turn Off" reminders, then turn them back ON. This reconnects your device to the reminder system.
Check your reminder time
Make sure your time is saved. Reminders fire in 15-minute increments.
Give it one full cycle
The reminder system checks every 15 minutes. Wait for the next :00, :15, :30, or :45.
